Mangaluru, Jul 26: "I have never interfered with the affairs of the eight Maths associated with Udupi Sri Krishna Math. My only concern which I openly expressed is about the mysterious death of Shiroor Swamiji," clarified Sri Esha Vithaldas Swamiji of Kemaru Sandipani Ashram. He was speaking to media persons here on Wednesday July 25.
"I am not at all interested in the affairs of the eight Maths at Udupi and personal matters of the late Shiroor Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji. The doctors have given the opinion that there was poison in his body. I had urged the police to probe whether the food he consumed was poisonous or poison was mixed with food given to him. Udupi district superintendent of police has promised to conduct investigation in a proper way. Therefore, I will not be undertaking any protest or fight," he clarified.
Adding further, he said that he has faith in Indian Constitution, and in his opinion, if Shiroor Swamiji had done something wrong, he should have been tried as per law, duly insisting that no one has the right to kill someone. He expressed the belief that post mortem and forensic laboratory reports would throw light on the cause of his death.
Kemaru Swamiji said that he has been given to understand that a Bengaluru-based person would be authoring the autobiography of Shiroor Swamiji, but refused to divulge the name of the writer as he wanted to get the information clarified from the person concerned. He also said that he is not aware whether he has already completed writing this work or not.
The Swamiji confessed that he has been receiving threats through social websites including WhatsApp and Facebook since the last some days after he demanded thorough investigation into Shiroor Swamiji's death. "On the basis of doctor's statement, a suspicion about his death arose in my mind, and therefore, I had demanded for investigation. As a reaction to this, I have received threats. I will think about filing police complaint on this issue," he stated.
