Bantwal, Jul 27: A youth, who was a part of a touring group, slipped and fell into Bhadra River. This tragic incident happened in Mudigere taluk on Thursday, July 26.
The victim of this accident was Kiran Kotian (26) from Thumbay in Bantwal taluk, who was working as engineer in a private company.
Kiran was a member of a 14-member team that had gone for undertaking tour of Chikkamagaluru district. All the other 13 members of the group were his friends. The team had visited various places like Kudremukh, Samse, Kalasa etc and also Amba Theertha. During the visit of Amba Theertha near Kalasa, he was crossing a boulder when he accidentally slipped. He fell directly down into Bhadra River flowing below. He was instantly washed away due to the force of the water.
Fire brigade personnel and police have been searching for the youth's mortal remains.
