Udupi: Post-mortem report of Shiroor Swamiji does not specify cause of death

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jul 31: The post-mortem report pertaining to deceased Shiroor Math Swamiji, Sri Lakshmivara Theertha was received by the police on Monday July 30. Strangely, the report does not specify cause of death.

After the Swamiji breathed his last at KMC Hospital Manipal on July 19, post-mortem was conducted in the same hospital on that day. The medical officers of the hospital handed over the post-mortem report to the district superintendent of police on Monday. However, instead of recording the cause of death in the report, the doctors of KMC said that they would come out with the cause of death after the scientific report is received from forensic science laboratory, Mangaluru.

Therefore, the police said that they have to wait till the forensic science laboratory report is received to know the cause of death.

Samples from different parts of Swamiji's body were sent by the hospital directly to the regional office of forensic science laboratory at Mangaluru. After the hospital receives report from the laboratory, the doctors will match the two reports and arrive at a definite reason for the Swamiji's death, it is said. Normally the forensic science laboratory takes not less than a month to prepare and submit its report.

Sources said that both the base Shiroor Math at Shiroor and the premises in the town will continue to be under police control till the investigation is completed. The clothes, bed sheet, blanket, pillow etc used by the Swamiji at the time of his death which were preserved at the hospital, were collected by the police from the hospital in a sealed cover on Monday.

The powerful mutt leader has said if he will step down if charges are proved. So use the buracray and close the case is the best option avilable.

Send his sample to government hospital under government appointed honest judges or send it Europe once more.

According to Shiroor swamiji himself wrote letter to law enforcement about his life. Then his own brother lodged complaint. It is impossible for 52 year person who has no past medical history to die without any traces.
The mortal of the Swamji will be haunted. God is always with truth.

This is a preliminary report. They would mention their findings in different organs, for example bleeding in the stomach or intestine; damage to the liver etc. These findings can be due to multiple causes. These findings are to be corroborated with laboratory findings. If they have mentioned the cause of death and if it doesn't match with the laboratory findings, the case becomes very weak. The final conclusion will be given after the lab reports.

you wait for almost a month for the Post mortem report and all the investigations was almost stuck waiting for this and finally report comes with out specifying cause of death. I think same stupidity we observed in Bhaskar Shetty's case where Post Mortem report came with out any firm indication on cause of death. We were far better in 90s and decade back I guess.. shame on ourselves to rely on these baseless technologies now a days.
