Udupi, Jul 31: “Global Bunts Okkoota, Dakshina Kannada, will organise a day-long mega 'Bunts Summit 2018' on September 9, in association with Udupi District's Bunts Association at Smt Ammanni Ramanna Shetty auditorium here,” said summit president Jayakar Shetty Indrali.
Addressing media here on Monday, July 30, he said, “The summit will begin with Bhajan and devotional programmes. A wide variety of cultural programmes will be performed by Bunts Association members,”
“Celebrities will also perform in the cultural programmes at 'Tara Sammilan' on the same occasion. Bunt politicians will take part in 'Rajakiya Sammilan'. The Bunts Okkoota is expecting hundreds of foreign Bunt delegates who will perform in the ‘NRI programme’” he informed.
“An interaction programme will also be organised on the topic 'Bunts’ past-present-future', which will reflect on the culture of Bunts' culture and traditions. A felicitation programme for national-level achievers will also be held,” he added.
“Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has promised his presence at the summit. Dharmadhikari of the Dharmasthala Temple Dr Veerendra Heggade will take part in the event., “We are expecting 15,000 to 20,000 of global level Bunt representatives and leaders at the programme. The Okkoota has arranged breakfast and dinner for all gatherings at the day-long summit. A committee has been formed for the success of summit,” he said.
Global Bunt's Okkoota president Harish Shetty, convener Kaup Leeladhar Shetty, secretary Manohar Shetty Moodanidamboor and treasurer Manohar Shetty Thonse were present.
