Udupi: 33-year-old Athradi village accountant Vanitha commits suicide

Udupi, Aug 1: The village accountant of Athradi gram panchayat near Manipal ended her life by hanging herself on the evening of Tuesday July 31.

Vanitha (33), village accountant of the said gram panchayat killed herself. She hanged herself from the ceiling fan of her residence when both her school-going children were not at home.

Vanitha had married Sudheer. Her husband had left for work to a foreign country on July 28. In the past, she was working at Karkala, and two years back, was transferred to Athradi, it is learnt.

Sources stated that Vanitha was suffering from certain psychological disorders and it is suspected that because of the health problems, she would have ended her life.

Manipal police visited the spot and registered a case of unnatural death.
