    Dubai, Oct 11: Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates organized a cultural event in a very traditional manner to mark its 11th anniversary at Zabeel Banquet Hall, Radisson SAS Deira Creek, Dubai on Friday 10th October 2008.

    Around 1000 plus Billawas of UAE reiterated their approval and acceptance by attending in full strength.

    Billawas Dubai & NE has proved once again their professionalism and Event Management capabilities by organizing such a marvelous  event at a 5 Star Hotel with a befitting daylong entertainment program on a purpose built aptly decorated  stage.

    Billawas Dubai & NE members showcased their talents in a true professional style with presenting a true essence and tradition of Tulunad that mesmerized the Majority Billawa crowd and to some of the elite members of the society who represented many cultural organizations in UAE.







     

    Billawas Dubai was formed in 1997 with the sole objective of uniting all Billawas and providing education and medical help. While they recognize and appreciate the contributions done by various Billawa Organisations back in India, Billawas NE are an independent charity organization and are not affiliated to any Billawa Organisation in India.  Thier sole objective is to help the needy without getting into any politics and we are proud to say that we have not deviated from this objective.

    This year Billawas Dubai & NE has invited Film Actor Sachin Suvarna who has acted in many Hindi and Kannada movies as Chief Guest and  Vidwan Pramod Ullal who is renowned Bharatnatyam artist as Guest.

    The program started at around 11 AM with a prayer sung by Raghu along with the committee members.  This was followed by welcome dance “Pushpanjali” which was choreographed by Vidwan Pramod Ullal and performed by Kirti Anil , Shubha and Vidwan Pramod himself. This was followed by another scintillating classical dance “Ekadanthaya” which is an prayer to Shri Vigneshwara in dance form by Vidwan Pramod Ullal.

    The traditional lamp was lit by Pramila Suvarna, Dr. Sachitha Attavar, Prasanna Kuckian,  Anita Amin, Sandhya Shodhan, Suvarna Satish  and Sunita Jaganath.

    Our chief guest Sachin Suvarna who arrived with his friend Rakesh Lobo was greeted by our ladies wing members in traditional Mangalorean Style. Sachin Survana paid his tribute to Shri Narayana Guru Swamiji , Koti Chennaya and to Lord Ganesha which was aptly decorated and setup by Satish Ullal.













    The large crowd greeted Sachin Suvarna with thunderous applause. The list of guests included Sarvotham Shetty from Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi, Ganesh Rai  former President of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah , Prabhakar Ambalthere President Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Prakash Payyar of Dwani Prathisthan Sharjah., Herman Luies of 105.4 FM, Dyan D’Souza, Daiji Writers Fourm, LV Puttran, President of Mogaverra.

    Large number from Abu Dhabi Billawa Balaga  and other Emirates were also present.

    Vidwan Pramod Ullal presented many Classical dances such as “Mahabharatha Nrithya Roopaka”  lasting 15 minutes Bharathnatya,  His act captured the heart of every one present.

    The Children presented various dances such as “Adona Banni”, “Krishna Ni Begane Baro”.

    Main Attraction was “Dasara Yatra”  which was complete with Devi , Garba Dancers and the “Pili Vesha” which represented a true Navarathri celebration followed by a beautiful Garba dance performed by Ladies wing  which was choreographed by Prasanna Kuckian and Ganesh Kotain.  While Abishek presented a unique Fashion Show 2050 which was very hilarious.

    Suhan Attavar, Shuti Poojary, Nidya Shodhan Prasad and Mayur presented a beautiful Salsa Dance and the Ocean Kids presented a scintillating dance medley.

    Male members presented a beautiful folk dance “Kangeelu Dance” which was performed with devotion with proper traditional attire.

    Sachin Suvanrna and Harsha Poojary of 89.1 FM presented 10 minutes of talk show.

    Comedy skit “Hotel Management” directed by Suresh Poojary was presented by Maxell Group and “Enlarge Machine” was presented by Rajesh Kuttar and team.

    During the “Sabha Programe”, many achievers were recognized , Advithi kumar, Ananya Suvarna, Sneha Krishna and were presented Acedamic Performance awards.  Mr & Mr Vaman Poojary were felicitated for their service to Billawas Dubai & NE.

    Vidwan Pramod Ullal was felicitated for his achievements in classical dance. Mr. Satish Ullal, Jagannath Bellare and Madhav Poojary were presented with awards for their service to Billawas Dubai.

    Sachin Suvarna, Vidwan Pramod Ullal, Jitendra Suvarna, Anup Kumar, Umesh Kuckian , Manohar Tonse, Rakesh Lobo and Prabhakar Suvarna were present at the dias. Umesh Kuckian President of Billawas Dubai welcomed all guests and members. He breiefed the audience about the activities of BDNE and emphasized the fact that Billawas Dubai’s main objective is to serve the community and help spread education and help the needy. He said that Billawas Dubai & NE is eager to join Billawa organization back home in setting up a Medical College. He said that we should work towards  one  Billawa Organization  for the entire UAE.

    Speaking on the occasion Jitendra Suvarna emphasized the importance of educating girl child while giving example of his own mother. He said that we must help more and more girl children to get higher education.

    Sachin Suvarna was very emotional at the love and affection provided to him during his speech. Pramod Ullal appealed to Billawas to realize his dream of setting up a dance school to teach classical dance at Shri Gokarna Temple Kudroli.

    The whole show was compeered by well known personality Shodan Prasad along with Prasanna Kuckian in a very professional way who kept the audience entertained till the end.    

  • Main Attraction was "Dasara Yatra" which was complete with Devi , Garba and Dhandia Dancers and the "Pili Vesha" which represented a true Navarathri celebration followed by a beautiful Dhandia and Garba dance performed by Jyothi Deepak, Soumya Vasanth, Divya, Kirti, Shubha, Rajni Kuckian, Smitha, Shrilatha and Jayashree which was choreographed by Prasanna Kuckian and Ganesh Kotian.
     
    The "Pili Vesha" had ten homegrown tigers who mesmerized the crowd with picking the money with acrobatic acts "Thel Bagguni" and dancing to the beat. Pili enthusiasts from the crowd joined the dancers on the stage. For the kind information of dummy's, In Tulunadu the "Pili Vesha" artists remove their makeup on the "Jalaka day" (Sharadha Immersion day) after their final performance which happened to be on 10th October 2008.  

    The dances were choreographed by Pramod, Yogitha Purushottham, Vinod/Ritesh - Ocean Kids, Rajesh, Abhishek, Sneha and Anil.  

    Suhan Attavar , Sanjana Jairaj, Yogesh Kumar and Sneha Praveen were awarded with Sports Champion awards for their performance in their respective age groups during the Billawas Annual Sports Event held on 8th Feb 2008.  

    Walter Nandalike Cheif Editor of Daijiworld.com has been awarded in appreciation of execellent support towards the community. Rajani Kuckain and Deepak organized the Spot games. Ramanad Balape compared the “Sabha Program.

      Billawas Dubai and NE are making lot of news of late. We have heard and read in newspapers the good work done by them. They have been giving scholarships to poor students, and also given money to many poor people for medical treatment. Therefore, one and all should support them so that they can give more money to poor people. Billawas Dubai, please continue your good work. Your good work will bring much relief to our poor people. Keep it up. We all with you in this noble deed of yours.

      Dear Billawas, This was truly the fabulous function which I got to attend after a long time. Non-stop entertainment, which covered all types of moods religious, filmy, classical, romantic, comedy etc. Kids’s have done a great job. Superbly organized and managed with many ladies actively involved. The only thing I can say about this whole event is that it was marvelous team work, fabulous energy level of the participant, and fantastic items and yes great food too. Keep going………

      Well done!Marvellous performance.especially classical dances by Vidwan Pramod were mind blowing.The dance form "DHARMA SANKRANTI" was a great success. The concept,creativity and choreography was the best.It clearly reflected Mr.Pramod's deep knowledge in the field of classical dance. All the very best for his future.
