Udupi, Oct 11:
Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa inaugurated the Kodgi Trust and the Karnataka Bank adoption of Amasebail village, in a function held on Friday October 10.

After inaugurating the Trust, Yeddyurappa said that despite the country having completed 61 years of freedom, poverty still persists in society. This calls for action and avoidance politics in matters of development, he opined. Development should not be restricted to the metropolitan state capital and efforts should be directed towards developing every district, taluk, and hobli, across the state.  If every village in the state prospers like Amasebail, poverty will cease to exist, added the chief minister.

Elected representatives ought to visit the households in their constituencies as part of the government’s effort to reach out to people in democratic governance. The adoption of Amasebail by a private bank should inspire every nationalized bank to adopt at least one hobli in every taluk across the state, and that will bring prosperity to every Kannadiga, Yeddyurappa exhorted.

He also announced a benefit package for the development of Amasebail.

  • A primary health centre including ambulance services will be set up
  • Hostels will be built for boys and girls from backward classes
  • The village will be developed under Suvarna Gramodaya project
  • Additional funds will be provided for drinking water supply
  • Community building will be set up at Rattady within the limits of Amasebail.

The programme was presided over by Ananthakrishna, chairman, Karnataka Bank.

State home minister Dr V S Acharya, state planning commission deputy chairman D S Shanker, Coastal Development Authority chairman and former district-in-charge minister Nagaraj Shetty, MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik, Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, Byndoor MLA Laxminarayan, ZP president Raju Poojary, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project CEO Dr L H Manjunath, 3rd Finance Commission member Dr Nayendra Kanti, C Timme Gowda, Bharati Vikas Trust chairman K M Udupa, Kundapur TP president Raju Devadiga, ZP member Geetha Nayak, Kundapur TP president Jayalaxmi Shetty, Amasebail gram panchayat president Ratna Poojary, Amasebail Vyavasayika Sahakari Bank chairman B K Narasimha Shetty, former minister Dhananjaya Kumar, former MP I M Jayaprakash Shetty, and former MLAs Appanna Hegde and Sunil Kumar were present on the occasion.

Yuddi started with "Cycle Hagarana", continued with mining hagarana (to buy MP's), then came communal hagarana. Yet, people are there to see him as dove and progressive. He is Karnataka's "Bush" in making, with false war theory, rich getting richer, worst financial melt down etc. Similiarities are striking if reasoning applied.

Well done Shri Yeddyurappa and keep up the good work. More such progammes need to be extended to the rural mass and tribal areas where the uneducated poor gets attracted to conversion of religion without understanding the real agenda.
