Mangaluru Aug 4: "Coastal region was a Congress stronghold. Five years back Congress had dominated this region. During the recent elections, I feel that Congress neglected the Hindus completely which led to their defeat,” JD(S) MLC Bhoje Gowda said.

He was addressing media here on Saturday, August 4.

"I have been advising our party representatives not to favour any religion. We should treat everyone equally without any bias. We should win the confidence of the people and respond to their problems,” he added.

"People have chosen me as their representative in south west teachers’ constituency MLC election. People have trusted me and I have to respond to their problems on behalf of my party and chief minister H D Kumaraswamy,” he said.

"We need to revive our party in the coastal belt and all our members are ready for it. I am planning to open my new office in Mangalur, so that it will be easier for me to stay connected with the people of coastal belt,” he informed.

"I have appealed to our higher education minister and representatives of teachers to conduct a review meeting to respond to the problems faced by teachers and lecturers,” he concluded.

District JD(S) president Mohammed Kunhi, district JD(S) youth president Akshith Suvarna, Sushil Noronha and others were present.

    Election is fast approaching and nothing to prove of their achievement, no jobs to the youths. Only false promises.
    Construction of Ram Mandir is almost stopped, clean Ganga - nothing happened, love for cow slowly vanishing as the death in cow shed run by govt. cow shalas have tremendously increased and India is number one beef exporter. All have been exposed.
    Now new issue, sudden love for Hindus, as it suits them. But again, how long.

    Congress has supported Hindu leaders...janardhan Poojari who was regularly Central Minister with important ministry and Veerappan Moily who was CM of KN as well as important Central Minister...

    But these leaders proved 'nikamma' and did not do any thing for the district nor for Hindus...not even for their own so called backward communities...they were very self centred and functioned as if they were servants of the family...

    There is some truth in what he had said, which is bitter to swallow by the so-called champions of secularism. Similar views were also expressed by veteran Congress leader, A.K. Anthony after the Congress debacle in 2014. Ever since the tenure of PVN, Congress had been distancing itself from the majority community which not a good sign in the interest of secularism and democracy.

    Religion based politics is creating a big problem among people. Hope people will come out of it and all are treated fairly and equally for the good of our country and state. Why for BJP followers they think hindus are neglected? Why congress followers do not think that way ? Give instances where hindus are neglected??? Its a propaganda created to gain votes and they are successful brainwashing hindus of coastal region! None of the elected have started any good work for people...probably busy calculating how to recover money spent on election! Im sure people will realize in few years and religion based politics will perish and performers like Pramod, Sorake and JRL will be given opportunity !

On 2 January 2017, the Supreme Court of India declined to reconsider its 1995 judgment, which defined Hindutva as "a way of life and not a religion".

    MLC Bhoje Gowda seems to be BJP man in JD(S) don't understand 'development' is the requirement of every citizens of India.

    I request CM Kumaraswamy to reconsider MLC Bhoje Gowda's MLC. He is not worth to hold this position which differentiate the progress of the nation on religious basis.
