Kasargod, Aug 6: A CPI (M) activist was brutally killed by four assailants on the late night of Sunday, August 6 at Sonkal in Uppala.
Abubakar Siddique (21), from Sonkal, is the person deceased.
As per details, at around 11pm.four unidentified assailants came on bikes and attacked Abubakar.
Abubakar was taken to a hospital in Mangaluru. But he could not be saved as he had sustained grave injuries.
Abubakar worked in Doha and had come few days back home.
The assailants left a bike at the murder spot before fleeing.
CPI (M) workers have accused BJP for the act. They have called for a protest at 2 pm on Monday, August 6 in Manjeshwar taluk.
Kasargod DySP Sukumaran, Kumble circle-inspector Prem Sagar and Manjeshwar police visited the spot.
Police have taken up investigations. Security has been tightened in the area.
