Kasargod, Aug 6: The police have cracked the CPM activist murder case in Uppala and have booked three BJP activists.
BJP activist Ashwath and two others have been booked for the murder of CPI (M) activist Abubakar Siddique.
The probe team led by Kasargod DySP M V Sukumaran and two circle inspectors, in its primary investigation found that the murder took place over sale of liquor.
Undeclared bandh has been observed in Manjeshwar and other nearby places. Bus service has been stopped and the police have beefed up security in the sensitive areas.
CPI (M) activist Abubakar Siddique (21), from Sonkal was brutally killed by four assailants on the late night of Sunday, August 6 at Sonkal in Uppala. As per details, at around 11pm four unidentified assailants came on bikes and attacked Abubakar. Abubakar was taken to a hospital in Mangaluru. But he could not be saved as he had sustained grave injuries.
