Bengaluru, Aug 6: For the second time, N R Vishu Kumar is back as director of State Information and Publicity department.
The previous Congress government headed by Siddaramaiah had shunted out Vishu Kumar as director of Kannada and Culture department. He was replaced by IPS officer Dr P S Harsha.
The JD(S)-Congress coalition government headed by H D Kumaraswamy has reinstated Vishu Kumar to his old post and transferred Dr Harsha back to the Home department to work as a police officer.
N R Vishu Kumar formally assumed charge as director of Information and Publicity department on Monday, August 6.
Mild spoken and courteous Vishu Kumar had joined the Information department as a senior assistant director in 1991 and rose to become its director. In between, he was shunted to the Kanteerava Film Studios as director. He is credited with translating the English budget copies of successive governments into Kannada for a record 24 times starting with his first effort as special officer to the then finance minister Siddaramaiah in 1995.
