Udupi, August 6: A Congress activist who had installed CCTV camera at his house was thrashed by BJP supporters here in Badanidiyur on Sunday, August 5.
Sunil D’Souza (32) had installed CCTV camera at his house three months ago during assembly elections. Few youth members of an association were creating nuisance in the vicinity having drinks late in the night and Sunil had objected the same. The association members had pressurised him to remove the camera to which he did not oblige.
On Sunday night, two men, both named Sandeep, who are supposedly the members of the BJP were sent by nearby gram panchayat president and BJP leader Umesh Poojary to Sunil’s house. The duo arrived to his house and attacked him with an iron rod.
Sunil who has been shifted to Ajjarkad hospital has alleged that his gold chain worth Rs 75,000 is missing after the attack.
The footage of the incident has also been captured by the CCTV camera.
A case has been registered at Malpe police station.
