Bengaluru, Aug 11: Many senior Congress leaders held a late night meeting in Bengaluru on Thursday August 9 in the absence of co-ordination committee chairman Siddaramaiah giving rise to speculations that all is not well within the party.
The Congress has decided go solo in the upcoming local body polls without joining hands with the JD(S), with whom it had formed alliance post-assembly elections. Hence the Congress leaders are planning to win more seats than the BJP and the JD(S).

A meeting was held at party office headed by KPCC chief Dinesh Gundu Rao on Thursday. DCM Dr G Parameshwara, ministers D K Shiva Kumar, R V Deshpande and several MLAs took part in the meeting. It is learnt that though K J George, Ramalinga Reddy and M B Patil were invited for the meeting, they decided to skip since Siddaramaiah did not attend it.
Siddaramaiah had gone to his Badami constituency to meet the local leaders ahead of local body polls. But the close aides of Siddaramaiah have expressed displeasure against senior leaders of the party for holding the meeting in his absence.
