Bantwal, Aug 15: The Netravati River is flowing at the danger level due to the continuous rains that the taluk has received in the past few days. Some local youths are showing the dangerous adventure of jumping into this river from the bridge and inviting danger.

There is an imminent danger as Netravati is brimming with water flowing in full force. In the midst of such an alarming situation, the horrible video of some youngsters diving into the river from the old steel bridge has gone viral on social sites on the evening of Tuesday, August 14.

Some minor boys, who got inspired by the act of the seasoned young swimmers, were also trying to enact the same act as seen in the video. The local elders have urged the concerned department officials to notice this crazy act and take suitable action to prevent any mishap.

"In Bantwal, the level of Netravati is touching the danger level. People should refrain from swimming or trying to catch flowing coconuts or logs of wood. If these kinds of crazy acts are seen, strict action, as per law, will be taken on those individuals. The civilians have to be alert on their own about the impending dangers," said T D Nagaraj, circle inspector of Bantwal.
