On Wednesday, several areas on the stretch witnessed landslides and hillocks caving-in that blocked the road. Hence the district administration has banned traffic on the ghat highway.

Meanwhile, the KSRTC has cancelled 54 bus services from Mangaluru to Bengaluru and Mysuru on Wednesday. KSRTC official Deepak Kumar said that the number of passengers heading to Bengaluru and Mysuru is quite less. "If any passenger has already booked the ticket on these cancelled buses, we will refund the money,"
