Udupi, Aug 16: Even after 27 days, the bereaved family members are waiting to receive the mortal remains of Hazel Jyotsna Mathias, a Shirva-based nurse, who died under mysterious circumstances in Saudi Arabia.
Hazel was working in Al Miqua General Hospital run by health ministry of Saudi Arabia for the last 6 years.
Hazel is the daughter of Robert Quadros and Helen Quadros couple from Agar Dande in Kuthyaru. She was married to Ashwin Mathias, a resident of Daddu in Baggathota road, Kuthyaru.
The grieving parents of Hazel, her husband and family members, who were hoping to receive her mortal remains, are still waiting to perform the final rites but the delay is an agonising one.
The accused, a resident of Saudi Arabia who is reportedly responsible for Hazel's death, has been taken into police custody. The investigation report has been submitted to the court and a copy of the same to Indian Embassy.
The mortal remains will be sent to India after the report gets approval.
The family members have expressed displeasure against the central government's failure to question the Saudi government and demand immediate action to recover the body and punish the culprit.
