Udupi, Aug 16: Karnataka High Court has refused bail to primary suspects of cattle trader Hussainabba from Jokatte who was murdered in Perdoor near Udupi.
Hussainabba was waylaid by Bajrang Dal activists allegedly in the presence of police in May this year. Police department enquiry reported later that Hussainabba died while in police custody. Hiriadka police station inspector and two policemen were arrested in the case on charges of dereliction of duties.
Since the High Court has refused bail to six primary suspects they can only proceed to Supreme Court.
A parade of identifying accused was held in Karwar jail today. Witnesses had identified all the accused in the case there. Therefore, appeals by 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 14th and 15th accused were rejected and they will have to remain in the jail.
High Court approved bail for 9th and 10thaccused policemen today.
Chandramouli argued for the state government. Abdul Lathif Badagannur argued for the complainants while B V Acharya represented the accused.
