Udupi, Aug 19: A condolence meet for late Lakshmivar Theertha Swamiji at Mathura Chathra near Sri Krishna temple Udupi was organised by his followers here on Saturday, August 18.
Esha Vittala Dasa Swamiji of Kemaru Math addressing the gathering, he said, “Swamiji is known for his generosity. There is solution for all the problems in Hindu culture, but there is no solution for who he is not being thankful. Bala Sanyasa is an offence; it is equated to child labour and child marriage.”
Swamiji assured all support to advocate Ravikiran and advised him to go ahead with the legal procedure. “No need to worry about threat calls. Shiroor Swamiji’s god will look after those who have done injustice to him. He never wore a mask on his face and had no enemies. So far, I was waiting for settling the issue peacefully. But I am not able to.”
“I demand a fair investigation on finding out poison content in his body. There is no need of CBI or CID probe in this case. Only two police constables are enough to find out the truth from the accused,” said Isha Vittala Swamiji.
Advocate Ravikiran Murdeshwar addressing the gathering said, “Some forget their duty of social reforms, once they become seers. But Shiroor seer was indulged in both social and religious activities. He learned martial arts - Kungfu for four years. He was interested in swimming, protection of cows, and singing, he played drums. He was healthy and confident that he will live till the age of 71. In such a case, how can he die at the age 54? He could have died by cardiac arrest or some harmful injection. But in his case he died by multiple organ failure as per the medical report. He died though he was healthy. Everybody has a right to protest in a democracy. Hence, everyone should act in a responsible manner.”
Ravikiran further said, “Another interesting thing here is no one has filed complaint in this case. In this situation, we doubt that the culprit might be punished or not. So far, court does have the information about this incident. But no FIR has been filed. I am shocked by his death. Unless we receive the post mortem report, it is difficult to find out the exact reason. There is no medical report even after a month. The medical procedure is getting delayed. There are chances of destroying the evidence. Since Lakshmivar Theertha was a Swamiji, the PM should have considered it as a special case. But we are disappointed.”
“His brother or any close relatives or friends could have filed complaint about his suspicious death. But it did not happen. I do not know, what is happening behind the screen,” he added.
Shiroor Swamiji's brother Vadiraja Acharya expressed childhood memories of him during the meet.
Proprietor of Sri Sai Radha Developers Manohar Shetty also shared his memories with Shiroor Swamiji.
Shashidhara Madanakki and others were present at the condolence meeting.
Later, the followers’ committee members took a portrait of Swamiji in a procession from Car Street area of Sri Krishna temple.
