Mangalore, Oct 17: The district police arrested two more terror suspects and seized  weapons and other incriminating items a few days ago. The arrested are Fakir Bava, a resident of Mudur, near Padubidri in Udupi district, and Rafiq, a resident of Veerakamba, Vittal, Dakshina Kannada district.

The seized items include one rifle, one bow, jars used for chemical experiments, engineering kits, carpentry kits, electrical kit, tents used in forests, gun powder, chemical substances, targets used for shooting practice and materials used for preparing bombs. Speaking to media persons on Friday October 17, Satishkumar, superintendent of police (SP), said that Fakir Bava was working in Dubai a few years ago.

He was collecting funds for terror activities and was planning to escape to Indonesia, added the police officer. Investigations revealed that six persons were staying in a house located in Hakkalmane in N R Pura taluk and Vittalmakki in Koppa taluk. They produced bombs in these houses and the weapons and incriminating items mentioned were seized from these houses, informed the SP.

Bava had been staying with the terrorists for about two years. He was also the car driver of Riaz Bhatkal, the mastermind of the serial blasts that occurred in the national capital recently, said Satishkumar.

A team headed by the SP of Udupi had reached Mumbai to interrogate the four terror suspects who were recently arrested in Dakshina Kannada district. Both Bava and Rafiq were arrested based on the information revealed during the interrogation, he added.

Western range inspector general of police (IGP) has indicated that many suspects in the district are still absconding. Therefore, the task of nabbing the terror suspects remains incomplete, he opined.

Meanwhile, the police custody of Mohammed Ali, Javed Ali, Noushad, and Ahmed Bava, who were arrested on October 3, ends on Friday October 17. At present they are in the custody of Maharashtra police and the Dakshina Kannada police has also applied for their body warrant, confirmed the SP. Additional SP Dilip was also present at the press meet.

In the rat race of second to none syndrome in criticising Hindus, police & Government people have forgotten to complement the police for thier nice job of averting the terror strikes in Mangalore by arresting the suspects.

Donot just pass judgement sitting in Dubai and adjudicate these suspects as innocent. Let the judiciary decide so. A bomb doesn't know whom its going to kill. People have become blind due to hatred.

One recalls that in a serious case of blasts in Nanded in April 2006 two Bajrang Dal workers died when making bombs. Similar incidents of bomb blasts were witnessed in many places around that time, Parabhani, Jalna, Aurangabad. Most of these were in front of the mosques. How far the Nanded investigation "leads" were traced is yet to be known. ATS did investigate the links of the dead with Bajrang Dal, an RSS affiliate.

At the same time the injured were visited in the hospital by the top brass of local BJP and associates. Local BJP MP told the police not to harass people, those linked to the culprits in the wake of the Bajrang Dal involvement in the bomb making. In Nanded, ATS also found fake moustache and pajama kurta, the idea being that the culprits will dress like a Muslim while doing these black deeds.

Oh my God! The picture with all the tools looks so scary. What has happened to Mangalore now? The terrorist are planning to set up a weapon factory or what? Look at the sophiscated tools or some may call it a ordinary tool, is used to make a home made bombs which can be used to blow up a small building.

Thank you Karnataka police for grabbing the culprits. Atleast we can sleep in peace at our home and we wish you more power to carry out your honest duties.

Lokesh, For your kind information I strongly believe you can differentiate between AK47 & a AIR GUN and secondly can you please explain to me in what or which kind of bomb is acid included? & for your kind info again in no news or pics did i find any bomb.

Mangaloreans...Don't be surprised in a next case you happen to see utensils, buckets, fry pans, scissors, spoons and forceps in the pics and displayed by the dumb police claiming it was used for terrorist activities. ) & Mr. Lokesh, drilling machines and dril bits are used to dril.

Nobody will use a drill as they don't have to drill a bomb or hide it inside a showcase. Tents are available dirt cheap in the middle east used for overnight camping. Media is acting silly in tune with the police. & thirdly perhaps the 2 guys who were caught were illiterate that the police didn't find any spriritual cd's/computer or laptops nor any cash. Did you guys hear any time of airgun upgradeable to rifle? Please let me know!

Killing animal, fishing etc are not part of terrorism? But the fact, it can also used to kill human being is in question and then becomes a murder case and not terrorism?! People need to be educated because any house situated near Ghats, village will definitely have various village technologies used for hunting, fishing purpose, again it is against law but not part of terrorism?.

Here cluster bomb is used for fishing, instead of chemicals, bows (arrows) in large nos used to shoot the fish, so far it is not considered as part of terrorism cos only drug"ism" prevails. This is a good initiative, as long as investigations are done independently and impartially. Lets all look at it from that perspective?.

Mr. Home minister, i.e Shivraj Patil and the state home minister, trust this minister's will find time to discuss and ensure the police depatment does not make a mockery of indian democracy and handle cases of high sensitive nature in more matured and sophisticated manner rather exhibiting and calling press confernece and photographing themselves, let them do some quality work and prevent people of doing any damage to the country and the city at large.  Also educate the general public about do's and donts, go for door to door campaign and make sure that every citizen knows and understands what is correct and what is in correct?? Please do not misuse your positions for publicity or any other reasons, understand that you are dealing with the nationals who are Indians too.

Any big supermarket you go in the world you will see these tools in display for people to buy. Most of the people go from Gulf and Europe buy these tools back home to use. This way if police start doing to innocent people we may have to get licence to use even kitchen utensils. May be government can think of creating a department use few of their trusted police officers to man it.

The way things are going in India we Hindus who live outside India are scared. Where ever we live either in Gulf or Europe we have all the freedom and living hapilly. Also sending loads of money to our people which is circulated in India and many of families having a livinghood due to this. All the Hindus/Muslims/christian and all the others should live like brothers and sisters helping each other and let our future generation have a bright future.

Yes, this whole thing looks like a charade just to meet the demand by higher ups to meet the required number of arrests. In the first photo, the man in centre appears to be answering questions at a Press Conference and the well preserved men in Khaki supposed to be his body guards dont have a clue as to why they are there !
