Mangaluru, Aug 21: A gang of two persons, one of whom was wearing a burqa, approached a house at Mangalanagara, Konaje here on Monday August 20 morning, acting like being on a visit to invite people for a marriage function. The two illegally entered a house, threatened the lone woman living there, and escaped after robbing her of gold ornaments.
The family which lost its ornaments in this incident belongs to Lathif from Mangalanagara.
It is said that Lathif was away for accompanying his children to school on Monday morning, when the above two men came to his home on the pretext of inviting the family for a marriage function. One among the two was covered in burqa. Lathif's wife thought that they were relatives and opened the door. The two robbers then forcibly entered the house, threatened the woman, rushed into the room, and escaped after taking away 20 sovereigns of gold ornaments kept there. In all likelihood, this robbery was executed by people having exhaustive information about this family.
Lathif, who came back after leaving the children at school, came to know about the incident. He filed complaint in Konaje police station. Sniffer dogs and finger experts along with police visited the spot and undertook investigation.
