Bengaluru, Aug 21: The Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR Airport), has emerged as the second among the top 20 fastest-growing major airports in the world.
Having added 4.18 million passengers during the first six months of 2018, the BLR Airport is now the second fastest-growing airport in the world by actual passenger numbers.
“These numbers stand testament to the impressive growth of Bengaluru as a new hub of economic activity in India, led largely by the knowledge economy,’’ said Hari Marar, MD & CEO of BIAL.
The study by RoutesOnline is in sync with the data that points to India among the fastest-growing aviation markets in the world.
To keep pace with this growth, the BLR Airport is on the cusp of tremendous infrastructure development that will include a new terminal and a second runway to ensure that we are able to keep pace with the burgeoning passenger growth, ensuring passenger delight at every stage.
