Bengaluru, Aug 22: A strange accident which happened at Arishinakunte in the city on Sunday August 19 left the people awestruck and gaping for breath.

In this case, a motor bike hit another motor bike that was parked. All those on the motor bike fell down due to the sudden jerk. However, the child which was seated in the front of the motor bike remained seated there. The motor bike moved ahead for about 500 metres before coming in contact with a divider and falling down. The child got deposited on grassy patch of earth and escaped unhurt.

No one faced any danger to life or injuries in this accident. The fact that the motor bike carried the child through dangerous terrain and ensured that it safely landed on the grass, everyone there believed, was not less than a miracle.

Police said it happened when the biker was trying to overtake other vehicles and rammed a scooter in front of him. First, the scooterist fell along with the vehicle. A few seconds later, both the biker and the woman riding pillion with him also fell. But the speeding vehicle surged ahead, with the child astride on its fuel tank. Luckily, the bike missed hitting a truck ahead of it by a whisker. Instead, it hit the median, throwing the child on to the adjacent lawn.

Motorists rushed to help the child, who, miraculously, was not injured.

An ambulance was called and traffic police alerted about the incident. The woman, who identified herself as a 30-year-old resident of Begur, near Kunigal, Tumakuru district, and the child were rushed to Nelamangala Government Hospital. She left the hospital after being treated for bruises on her forehead.

Nelamangala traffic police said they have registered a case (of rash and negligent riding and hit-and-run) against the biker, who went missing after the incident.
