Mangaluru: Five notorious criminals arrested, drugs, pistols worth Rs 11 lacs seized

Mangaluru, Aug 22: Mangaluru anti-rowdy squad arrested five notorious criminals and confiscated two pistols, bullets and MDMA crystal drug from them on Tuesday August 21.

The arrested accused are T H Riaz(38), resident of resident of Innoli, Usman Rafiqu (29), resident of, Salethur, Abdul Rauf V S (30), resident of Manzil, Mulinja, Imthiaz Ahmed (40), resident of Hidayat Nagar, and Hazwar(30) from Vittal.

Assistant police commissioner of Mangaluru south sub -division and south anti-rowdy squad were on rounds with the staff on August 21 when they received information that accused were heading from Mangaluru to Gurpur Bridge in vehicle number KL-14V- 636 looking for customers for the drugs.

The police intercepted the vehicle at Parari Junction and took five accused in their custody. Baleno car worth Rs 7 lacs used for transporting drugs, lumps of ganja worth Rs 5,500, 100 grams MDMA Crystal drug worth Rs 1, 80,000, two pistols and 22 bullets worth Rs 1,15,000, eleven mobile phones worth Rs 81,000 and Rs 63,690 cash have been confiscated from the accused. The total value of confiscated items is Rs 11, 45,190.

The accused, during questioning have confessed that they were bringing the contraband from Mumbai and selling it in Kerala and other places.

Primary accused T H Riyaz among them is a notorious criminal who has about 40 criminal cases pending against him. He is accused of bringing drugs from Mumbai and selling them here. Warrants have been issued against him in Payangadi and Bekal police stations of Kerala.

Second accused Usman Rafiquealias Talki Rafik is a suspect in seven criminal cases in Kerala and Karnataka. He is an accused in a murder case at Manjeshwar police station limits. A case of illegal possession of pistol was also registered against him four months ago in Bengaluru Sanjaynagar police station. He was released on bail recently. Another pistol and two magazines containing bullets were confiscated from him during the arrest.

A country pistol was recovered from third accused, Abdul Rauf. He is actively engaged in illegal drug trafficking with T H Riaz.

Three criminal cases were registered against fourth accused, Imthiaz Ahmed in Manjeshwar police station. He too is active in illegal drug trade of T H Riaz.

Fifth accused Hazwar is an accomplice of Usman Rafiquw alias Talki Rafique.

The five men and the valuables confiscated from them were handed over to Mangaluru rural police station for further action.

The operation was conducted by Mangaluru rural police station inspector S H Bajantri, Mangaluru south sub-division anti-rowdy squad staff ASI Mohan K V, Ranjan M K, Rajaram Kootathaje, Mohammed Sharif, Ravichandra, Sunil Kumar, Damodar, Sudheer Shetty, Girish Suvarna, Dayanda, Reji V M and Mahesh under the directions from Mangaluru south sub-division ACP K Ramarao.

    Police knows very well them though they commit the crimes thousand time even judge knew them even the tea seller outside the court know them but who will stop them ! those criminals are ready to kill anyone for hefty money but who cares ! The police takes them to the court and lawyer fight the case and judge deliver the judgement after some times same people get caught with bigger crime and story is goes on ! until they knock your door and become one of the victim

    These are backed by politicians.and most of the victims are college students. As long as it's not uprooted the crime isn't going to stop . No idea if this kind of money making would ever stop in India .

    How can they were roaming freely when there are so many cases are pending against them.
    We will not get the solution to our problem unless we eradicate corruption from all the government departments and implement strict laws against criminals.

    If this is done.... Human Rights Commission and all Sickular parties will start crying telling that they are innocent and should release them immediately.... This is a Secular Country and every human being has right to live and constitution has given right to do whatever he like to do.... PAID TV channels will have a robust TRP... for say one month 24*7...

    Why do youth opt for shortcuts of making money.... at last it will not anything... few day they will remain happy with that money.. wither they will be cought or because of their wrong deeds their fmly members will suffer.... why dont they understand...that too selling drugs is like spoiling others life... do they get happiness with the money they earn by spoiling someone....
