Madikeri, Aug 22: Complaints are being heard that the relief materials meant for flood-affected victims of Kodagu are being taken away by the middlemen.
Accusations are being heard that the things sent by generous people are being stolen and sold to shops at a cheaper rate. Vegetables, milk powder, rice, wheat powder, water bottles, blankets etc are being supplied in abundance to the various relief centres in the district of Kodagu.
Only the relief centres which are run by voluntary organizations are manned properly. But the relief centres run by the district administration do not have proper security and the things are being looted by brokers.
Flood-affected victims residing in Maithri hall in the town have complained that stale rice is being supplied to them.
