Bengaluru, Aug 23: The recently organised session by Kanara Entrepreneurs (KE) which centred on the theme ‘Entrepreneurship is all about Leadership’ was a huge success with the members receiving great insights on various dimensions in the area of business risks, overseas investments and bond offerings.
Prior to the event KE lead members and board of directors Claudius Pereira and Roshan D’Silva organised a member orientation session for the recently inducted members. The objective was to ensure that the members benefit from the various avenues available to them to drive more business to their companies. On the side lines, a '10 point LM Precision Eye Test Camp' was conducted in association with Lawrence and Mayo for all the attendees.
The event formally commenced with an invocation ceremony and opening remarks by Charles Gomes, lead member and president-elect. He welcomed the gathering and highlighted the upcoming Europe trip that over 50 members will be embarking on shortly.
Roshan D’Silva, lead member and director membership, then conducted the new member induction. A value added talk by DBS on overseas investment opportunity and bond offerings by Shailesh Kumar, city head of DBS Bank Ltd was conducted. He dwelled on DBS expertise in fixed income instruments and the Liberalized Remittance Scheme (LRS) facility which could be used as an exchange risk hedge.
This was followed by a talk on how to cover business risk by Mithun Jathal, independent financial advisor. He further highlighted the importance of Keyman insurance and employer employee insurance.
The session continued with a value added talk by Ronald Olivera, talent management consultant and corporate trainer who provided insights on leadership in entrepreneurship. Mementos for the DBS treasures were presented by past president and lead members Robinson D’Souza and past president Peter Anil Rego to Ronald Olivera. The closing ceremony was conducted by Royston Pinto.
The event organised by GenNow, led by member Nishan Pereira was a result of continuous interaction with members and the KE Board to understand what initiatives would add value and best benefit members with best practices shared to help manage business risk. The moderator for the day, Kerolin Martis, then formally introduced the speakers.
