Kuwait, Oct 19: The Creative Indian’s Association Hotstepper’s – Indian Fiesta was held here recently at the Shaab Leisure Park. Blessed with a beautiful sunny day, visitors were treated to the thrilling rides and lovely atmosphere. Thousands of people visited Shaab Park where children received tri-colored balloons to mark the festivities of the Indian Fiesta.
Main sponsors Abdulaziz Abdulmohsen Al Babtain treated visitors to a splendid display of Nissan cars at the entrance followed by some great offers on products from Al Yasra Foodstuffs and Roche (YIACO). The popular department stores – MAX and Centerpoint as silver sponsors also had stalls on display along with gold sponsors Al Hafez Trading that are the exclusive distributors of Shell Super Plus in Kuwait. Food stalls from Chicken Hut and Jungle Café served mouthwatering dishes throughout the day. The event was professionally marketed by Al Badra International.
The evening brought even more entertainment to life with a special variety show for all the visitors. DJ Flames opened the evening with a collection of popular Bollywood music followed by local performer Shaker Shaikh with some soft and melodious numbers as well as foot tapping hip hop tunes. Prizes and surprises were aplenty with generous gifts from sponsors including Al Marai, Shell and Nissan.
MC Nita did a splendid job as usual with her bubbly personality and charming eloquence. This time she matched wits with the star of the evening – comedian Shakeel Siddiqi aka ‘Shana Shakeel’. A multi-talented performer Shakeel had the audience in splits as he responded to Nita’s questions with hilarious responses.
As the co-host for the evening the duo had the audience glued to their seats as they presented the other performers for the evening - Indian Idol participants Deepali Kishore, Chang, Abhishek, Parleen and Suhit. Deepali was the sweetheart with a beautiful voice and face to match. Her powerful renditions of songs like “Chaliya”, ‘Beedi Jalaiyle” and “Crazy Kiya Re” proved to another Sunidhi Chavhan in the making. The fantastic combination of four good looking teenagers with amazing voices had the girls going crazy as they performed together – the F4 band. Their great song range and matched dance steps had audiences yearning for more.
Nazima who was there with her family including two young children said: “It was a great show. Even my two year old son enjoyed it a lot and was dancing throughout.”
Shakeel and Nita continued their interaction with the other artists as Shakeel quizzed them. Each one more scared than the next of being in Shakeel’s hotseat for leg pulling. One of the audience members - teenager Neha commented: “This was the best show ever in Kuwait so far.”
The grand finale had all the singers doing ‘Jhoom Barabar’ much to the delight of all the audiences. Shakeel and the group wound up with kind words to the one person that made it all possible – the organizer of the show and the true star of the evening Prashanth D’Souza, the President of Creative Indians Association. A special felicitation was also done to convey thanks to all the sponsors by Prashanth along with the Vice President of Creative Indians Association Vinod D’Souza and Wilson D’Souza from Badra International.
