Bantwal, Aug 26: A woman, who has turned ill after having been bitten by a snake, breathed her last without responding to treatments.
The deceased was Tunga Gopal (45), wife of Gopal Gowda from Hosamane, Kukkala village. She was a former president of Madanthyar gram panchayat.
She was working in her farm on July 30 when a snake, species of which could not be identified, bit her. She was admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru for treatment.
Without responding to efforts made to save her, she passed away on Saturday August 25. She was a member of Punjalkatte Sri Murughendra Vanitha Samaj and secretary of Manjalpalke Jai Hanuman Bhajana Mandir.
