Mangaluru, Aug 27: Thieves entered a house at Padupanambur near Haleyangady under Mulky police station limits and decamped with gold and cash. This incident came to light on Sunday, August 26.
The thieves entered the house of Fakhruddin by breaking open both the front and back doors and broke the locker of the cupboard and took the golden chain, bangles, bracelet, finger ring and earrings. The total worth of these items is said to be Rs 1.57 lac.
Fakhruddin and his family had been to his mother-in-law's house in Kinnigoli on Saturday. The robbers took the advantage of this. After stealing the gold, the thieves entered the room adjacent to the room in which the gold was kept and took Rs 7000 in cash, a DVD player that was left on the table and passbook and ATM card from the drawer.
The theft came to light when Fakhruddin’s daughter and grandson visited the house on Sunday. They immediately informed the same to Fakhruddin, who in turn informed the Mulky police.
The police from Mulky station visited the house along with the fingerprint experts.
A case stands registered in this connection at Mulky police station.
