Bengaluru, Aug 28: Even though next Lok Sabha elections are almost nine months away, the Congress party in Karnataka will be holding a crucial meeting of the state party leaders along with AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, who is also the party in charge for the state, on the Lok Sabha constituencies in the state on September 1 and 2.
KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao and working president Ishwar Khandre will be part of the Lok Sabha constituency-wise brain-storming session being held ahead of the 2019 general elections, due in May.
Venugopal would hold meeting with legislators, former legislators, MPs and former MPs, KPCC office-bearers, and constituency level leaders to assess the party’s work in each constituency.
During the two-day meetings, discussions would be held on issues related to 20 Lok Sabha constituencies where the Congress has advantage over rival parties.
Issues such as the Cabinet expansion, appointment to boards and corporations, and filling of legislative council vacancies would also come up.
