Mumbai, Aug 29: The Indian Rupee weakened by 25 paise to 70.55 against the US dollar on Wednesday, August 29. This is the record low for Rupee.
The Rupee also traded at 19.20 against UAE Dirham, which is a record low.
Analysts said besides fresh demand of the US currency from importers, dollar's strength against some currencies overseas weighed on the Indian currency.
On Tuesday, the Rupee had bounced back in a tepid fashion from the record closing low against the US currency.
BSE Sensex reached the intraday high of 38,938.91ponits and closed at the highest ever figure of 38,896.63 on Tuesday, August 28.
Meanwhile, India's foreign exchange reserves fell by $33.2 million to $400.847 billion in the week to August 17 mainly due to fall in foreign currency assets, according to RBI data.
