Selfie with actor Nandamuri Harikrishna’s body, four hospital staff sacked

Daijiworld Media Network

Hyderabad, Sep 1: Four employees of Kamineni Hospital, Narketpally, were sacked on Friday, August 31 after the hospital learned that they had clicked selfies with the body of actor Nandamuri Harikrishna.

Harikrishna had succumbed to injuries he sustained in road accident in Nalgonda on Wednesday.

Kamineni Hospital, apart from sacking the employees, is also planning to file a complaint with Narketpally police station in this regard.

The management of the hospital has apologised to Harikrishna’s family for the act of its staff.

The stern action came after the photo, which shows a ward boy, a maid and two nurses smiling and posing with the body, went viral over social media, evoking all-round condemnation.

The selfie was taken shortly after Harikrishna was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Utter ignorance on the part of hospital employees. No insult was meant, rather a smile of pride to pose with famous actor. Surely, they mourn the death.

Suspension for a month without pay and sensitivity training may be an appropriate punishment. Criminal case is unwarranted again those poor folks. In some countries, dead body belongs to the State until someone makes appropriate claim and State releases to them.

The hospital has done it right.Sure these simple workers were certainly happy to serve the famous actor and had the chance once to fotography with him.Unfortunately they forgot at the wrong situation one had to respect the dead body whoever it is ,and not to click fotos with a dead body.Everyone knows it is a sad moment ,and simply give respect and move away after covering with a simple cloth.Horrible it looks when family members see it their deceased family member is bieng exposed for a foto with hospital staff. It is not a happy moment.Hospitals name is spoiled through this. Never ever it should happen again.I am sure hospital should certainly teach them how to be treated a patient and gorgive them once .If ever it happens again they should be punished ,and since these workers are poor ,give them a chance to employ again on conditions.

@AF mangalore,When one sees the foto, one side what you meant is quite right even though expression was wrong. One sees he is still on infusion.or infusion was not taken off.Still when a person is in that condition, isnt good to concentrate on fotos.your main work or dutyshould come in first place.First respect the person whoever it is and even a dead body should be respected .Noone would like to have in this situation be fotografied. It is more moking to person self, family members too. Be respect ful to relations when to visit or in mourning. That should be main duty of a Nursing personal to be learnt.

It's now become craze even during funeral procession people clicking selfies/photographs. People even hesitate to keep taj mahal statue in there home as it's bad omen. Taj mahal nothing but graveyard..of mumtaz begum..earlier buried in mahal at Madhya Pradesh and after several years removed body and shifted to taj mahal. Always try to think positively. Avoid bad things as much as possible.

Foolish to file case against innocent poor people. Mad fellows. If have any union should protest against hospital management to secure there job.

    I strongly agree with you.

Has these staff have been provided any training on these incidents or is there a sign board saying photography not allowed! if these staff breaking the policies of the hospital, they should be punished.
Most of the hospitals in India never has staff orientations, training, health check like tb test or background check or criminal checks. Finally the hospital administration terminates the employees for silly reasons. Is this hospital has the handbook for these staff?? The Hospital Administration should be punished or sued by the actor family for breaking the privacy. Clever hospital has taken on action on the staff to avoid the suing situation from actor family. I strong believe the actor family should sue or take action against the Hospital Administration not on the staff.
