Bengaluru: 11-year-old boy dies following attack by stray dogs

Bengaluru, Sep 2: A 11-year-old boy, who was attacked by stray dogs earlier this week at Vibhutipura, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, September 1.
Praveen, a sixth standard student, is the deceased.

Praveen was on his way home from school in the afternoon when he was attacked by stray dogs.

He was admitted to Manipal Hospital in city.

As per the statement by the hospital, Praveen was on advanced life support systems including ECMO and CRRT. He had septic shock and multi-organ failure.

The HAL police had arrested an assistant director and senior inspector in the BBMP's animal husbandry department for alleged negligence.

BBMP has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lac.

    Very tragic .Heartfelt sympathys to the family.Family should file case against the muncipality for neglecting these animals and causing menace to public.No child or person can walk on streets when thes dogs are roaming about.Citizens should put pressure on muncipality,otherwise they will never take any step.Every domastic dog should be registered and chipped.when it is found on road then owner have to pay fine.Rest dogs catch and donate to zoos as food to wild animals.Now muncipality have to compansate the family.They are responsible for this.May the soulof innocent boy rest in peace with angels.

    I read today that a person was killed by stray cow in gujarath. Sometimes our overzealous groups don't see beyond their point.

    Innocent lives are in danger for lack of common sense of some.

    We too suffered due to stray dogs and domestic docs left to room around on our way to and from school days,
    No one was heeding our grievances those days,
    Finally we school boys decided to buy "GOLIBAJE" and inserted pesticide and "Eli-Pashana" in GoliBajee and gave to dogs as prasadam and over the period we overcome ,many street dogs.

    Where are the animal lovers? It is easy to say many things sitting inside the houses and/or travel by cars and show sympathy for the animals. What a pathetic state. No cure for human hipocracy. All read the news but do not understand. All see the reality yet they shut their mouth. Even the authorities concerned are, can I say, dumb? WHAT A SHAME!

    Dogs belongs to idividuals. They should keep the dogs in their premises. Dogs on roads should be shot always. They are equal to wild dogs of forest. It is the responsibility of municipality. The municipal head is responsible for the death of this boy. Please a rarrest him/her.

    These dogs sometimes are menenace to two wheeler riders, chasing them to some distance and creating panic !
    Catch them and export to dog eating countries.

    Police should file Murder Charges against the dogs involved and produce them before a Judge for hearing bail application...Street dogs could be very aggressive...
