Mangaluru: U T Khader rules out alliance with SDPI following fractured verdict in Ullal

Mangaluru, Sep 3: Congress will not join hands with SDPI in Ullal municipality, confirmed Congress leader and district in-charge minister U T Khader here on Monday, September 3 at a press meet here at Circuit house.

“We will discuss about congress party‘s performance in the local body polls. There is no question of any tie-up with SDPI in Ullal. Power is not important to me and my party. So we will not go with SDPI for power. Our party members will decide what stand we should take,” he said.

Congratulatulaing Poovamma and Tarun who secured medals in Asian games, he said, “We will discuss with CM to felicitate the winners and reward them. We will also write to union sports minister to provide them all facilities under sports quota. I also congratulate their parents, teachers, coach and the supporters.”

“NRI’s who are in gulf countries from our district are facing many job related issues. The policies of gulf countries made them re-think about their job and majority of are willing to return to their native places. With the help of NRI forum, district administration is planning to set up a center to study and find out their issues. The center will collect the information about who have lost jobs in gulf countries and are returning to India. After collecting the details, government will try to solve the issues.”

He further said, “The government has sanctioned Rs 10 crore for road works in Mudipu. The work will start soon. It connects Mudipu to Ira industrial area. In Ullal also we are going to construct a road at the cost of Rs 3.30 crore. The road will connect Haris Nagar, Permannur church and Ullal. Also Rs 2.8 crore has been sanctioned for up gradation of Mukkacheri School. The school will get new infrastructure.”

“Will never allow land encroachment in Ullal constituency. If industrialists want to start a unit in Ullal constituency they should purchase land from private parties. No government land will be given to them,” he added.

He further said, “People who started house construction works under Ashraya scheme and thereafter faced technical issues under income criteria will get 15 days time to upload the original documents and income details online. By uploading the latest documents the beneficiaries can avoid the cancellation of their allotment. We will completely computerize the housing department in 6 months.”

“I congratulate the winners of local body election. As a minister I will support all who have won in this election,” he added.
