Mangaluru, Sep 4: State housing minister, U T Khader, said that a NRI centre would be opened in the office of the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district here to pool information about people from Dakshina Kannada district who have either lost or left their jobs because of the enactment of new laws in foreign countries.
"A proposal to this end will be soon submitted to the deputy commissioner. This centre will record all the details of such people. This will enable those who have lost their jobs and the district administration to take decisions in the future. An effort will be made to offer them support in future," he explained, at a press conference he addressed on Monday September 3.
On this occasion, he explained about various road works being undertaken by Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board at Kudipu-Ira region, Someshwara temple to Saraswathi colony, Ullal Mogaveerapatna beach to St Sebastian Church etc. He also said that a new school building would be built at Ombattukere at a cost of Rs 2.8 crore so that the building can be used in case of natural calamities.
