‘Every village should have Anganwadi based on Gurukula model’

Beltangady, Sep 4: "At a time when life values are declining, there is a need for the society to achieve spiritual renaissance on the basis of righteousness. Dharma Sansads like these can function as beacons for such a transformation," felt Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala establishment.
He was speaking after presiding over 'Rashtriya Dharma Sansad - 2018', which happens to be a congregation of religious scholars, organized at Sri Atmananda Saraswathi dais at Lord Rama Temple at Kanyadi here to celebrate the decennial celebrations of the enthroning of Sri Brahmananda Saraswathi as spiritual head of this temple.
Dr Heggade said that one can get a feeling of total contentment and fulfilment when he shapes his life on the basis of religious principles. "The main aim of any religion is to throb to the problems and ordeals of others," he explained.
Supreme head, Sri Mahant Devananda Saraswathi Swamiji of Juna Akhara of Prabhu Harnath Mandir in Haridwar, who inaugurated Dharma Sansad, said that our ancient education system was based on the basis of culture, traditions, and thinking process. "Our education system was backed by the divine aim of lighting up lofty ideals in the minds of people. But because the Macaulay system of education, we are turning away from these rich principles. There is a need to shape a balanced education system which gives rightful place to ancient culture, refinement etc. Let us build an affluent India and wrest back the position of being the Guru for the whole world," he said.
In his benedictory address, Sri Brahmananda Saraswathi Swamiji, said that peace and harmony will become a way of life in the society when education based on ancient culture is implemented. "The refinement one gets in the school during the childhood becomes the guide for one's entire life. We should understand the need for this system of education. With this basis purpose in mind, this Dharma Sansad has been organized. We have brought together people's representatives here to press for the implementation of this system of education," he explained.
Union minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, speaking on the occasion, noted that change is the nature of the world and inventions and transformations are now happening at high speed. He therefore urged spiritual heads, Maths and temples to guide the people to match the speed of these changes.
Rajya Sabha member, B K Hariprasad, wished that the principles of unity and equality preached by Brahmashri Narayana Guru would be strictly followed and the resolutions which might be passed here should be based on principles and ideals of the Guru.
MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, promised to raise the resolutions passed here in the Lok Sabha to attract the attention of the government.
MLA and president of the executive committee of the Dharma Sansad, Harish Punja, welcomed. Chief convener of the organizing committee, Satyajith Suratkal, delivered introductory address. Assistant convener, Krishnappa Poojary Kalladka, proposed vote of thanks. Convener of the dais committee, Keshava Bangera, presented the programme.
During the deliberations, Dharma Sansad passed six resolutions.
1. Education system should be suitably modified to include history of India in the syllabus. The governments should take Hindu spiritual leaders into confidence for this purpose.
2. Within a decade from now, every village in the country should have a system of Anganwadi based on Gurukula model.
3. Central and state governments should set up Saints Welfare Fund to provide security for the lives of spiritual guides, saints who keep undertaking pilgrimages to various centres, and aged saints.
4. Constitutional laws which are necessary in day-to-day life should be included in the syllabus.
5. 'Dharma Sansads' should be organized on the basis of 'Vasudaiva Kutumbakam - the world is one family'. Therefore, criticism of other religions should be strictly avoided.
6. For establishing 'Rashtriya Loka Kalyana Manch', heads of all traditions of ancient Hindu religion should be brought together. This 'Manch' will come in handy for achieving general welfare and protection of the religion.
