C.M. Abdullah Musliar New Kazi for Mangalore City

MANGALORE, Oct 24: C.M. Abdullah Musliar has been named the new Kazi, spiritual head, of all the mosques in the city. He will take oath of charge at a ceremony scheduled to October 26.



Abdullah Musliar’s elevation follows the death of the previous Kazi here, Kota Abdul Khader Musliar, last month. Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, Zainul Ulema Zaimuddin Musliar, general secretary of the Samartha Janiyathul Ulema, said that Mr. Abdullah Musliar had written several books in English, Malayalam, Urdu and Arabic. He hails from Kasargod in Kerala.

    Best wishes to the new Qazi.I sincerely hope the new kazi will not confine himself only to the religion but will encourage the muslim community to develop in educational field. The only remedy for all the problems muslims are facing today is to emphasise on better education.
