Mangaluru: Vikas PU College celebrates Teachers’ Day

Mangaluru, Sep 6: Students of Vikas PU College paid respect to their teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day celebrations conducted on the campus on September 5.

Chief Guest of the programme Gopal Krishna Bhat Seraje, retired lecturer in History, Canara College, Mangaluru, while addressing the students and teachers, said that teachers must identify the potentials of the students and it must be brought out to the fullest. He pointed out that students accept the teacher first then the subject, so it is important for a teacher to have a subject knowledge and personality that inspires the students. He further advised the students to aim not only on scoring highest marks but also to excel in the field of their interest.



On this auspicious occasion, G K Bhat Seraje was honoured by the college for his exceptional service as a teacher and Chidanand Shetty, district head, HDFC Bank, felicitated the dignitaries and the teaching staff with the memento.

Krishna J Palemar, chairman of Vikas Education Trust, made it a point that the teachers should be friendly to students unlike the olden times. Trustees of Vikas PU College J Koragappa and Suraj Kallya, Dr D Shripathi Rao, correspondent, Vikas PU College, Dr Ananth Prabhu G, advisor, Vikas Edu Solutions, Parthasarathy Palemar, coordinator, Vikas Group of Education, and Prof T Rajaram Rao, principal, Vikas PU College were present on the occasion. Students of II PUC Mariam Thanzeeh, welcomed the gathering and Dushyanth, rendered the vote of thanks and Gyaan and Ananya were the masters of the ceremony. The formal function was followed by variety of cultural programmes themed on Teachers’ Day.
