Deputy commissioner of the district, Priyanka Mary Francis, had sent a report to the department, recommending disciplinary action against Huligevva, in view of her negligence in discharging duties. Allegations like delay in following instructions of superiors, leaving headquarters without prior permission when election code of conduct was in force, behaving rudely with members of child welfare committee during their visit, going on leave from July 2 to 31 this year without obtaining prior permission, resulting in problems in disbursement of salary to staff, food distribution to inmates of the centre, and other routines, were found to be true.
She has been suspended, pending departmental enquiry as per Karnataka Civil Service Rules 1957. In her order, Dr Arundhati Chandrashekhar also mentioned that during the period of suspension, the official should not leave headquarters without prior permission from higher officials.
Chairman of Child Welfare Committee here, Ronald Furtado, and members, Muralidhar Shetty, Nagarathna, Mohan Kumar and Akhil B Hegde, had sent their resignation letters to the member secretary of Karnataka State Integrated Children Protection Society on June 15, 2017, as they were miffed at the fact that no action had been taken against Huligevva who had behaved arrogantly with the committee relating to a case.
