Mangaluru, Sep 10: The evergreen melodies of yesteryears sung at 'Sargam-Geeton Ka Karwan', a musical evening held at Town Hall on Sunday, September 9 brought back nostalgic memories.
Prior to the musical programme, a short inaugural ceremony was held.
“I am music lover and practice music for half an hour every day. We started a music club with fifteen members and now the membership reached to one hundred and forty. Soon we are going to open same music clubs in other cities also. Ideal Ice cream brand always supports music and musical events. So now we are happy to be part of ‘Sargam’,” said Ideal Ice Cream Proprietor Mukund Kamath.
During the show, Srikant Kamath, who has several musical shows to his credit in India and abroad and is popular among fans, once again proved that legendary singers Mukesh and Kishore Kumar live in his voice.
Anitha whose melodious voice is a crowd puller, mesmerised people in Town Hall. Ranjandas is another popular singer who has performed in India and abroad, thrilled the audience by singing songs of top singers of Bollywood. Muhammad Haneef another talented singer from district brought the memories of Mohammad Rafi’s golden hits.
Prem, a noted compere with sea of knowledge in Bollywood music and decades of experience, hosted the show and won the hearts of audience with his spontaneous presentation skills.
Abdul Rauf Putthige of Vishwas Bawa Builders, Fortunate Serrao, head- Sales, Karnataka Agencies, Prakash Sherigar of Avinash Mosaic Industries, Jagadeesh Shetty, president , Karavali Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkuta attended as guests of honour.
