Muscat, Sep 11: 'Gulf Voice of Mangalore' (GVOM), a mega Konkani singing talent hunt show has witnessed remarkable success in the past decade and has become the biggest Konkani reality show in the gulf region.
The Mangalurean Konkani Wing of Indian Social Club, Oman is all geared up to host the semifinals of GVOM, Season 6 on September 21, at the multipurpose hall of Indian Social Club, Oman from 5 pm onwards. One male and female finalist from Oman will be awarded the title “Voice of Oman” and will qualify to participate in the grand finale of Gulf Voice of Mangalore, Season 6 to be held in Kuwait on November 9.
Dilip Correa
Renowned Toastmaster, and one of the very talented leaders of the of the Mangalurean community in Oman, Dilip Correa will be the anchor for the show. Band Open High will provide the music for the day.

Amanda Lobo, Anitha Lobo, Inez Lobo, Lavisha Sequeira, Renita Quadras, Zeena D’souza
Male Category:
Cyril Danthy, Deepak D’souza, Jason Cardoza, Pradeep D’souza, Vincent D’souza and Zino Saldanha
The above twelve contestants were selected after qualifying in the preliminary round held on May 25 this year.
Clarence Pinto the current convener of the Mangalurean Konkani Wing of Indian Social Club, Oman has urged all the Konkani lovers of Oman to mark September 21 on their calendars, as this will be a worthwhile experience for the Mangalurean community of Oman to witness world famous artistes and local talents on the same stage.
The panel of jury for the semifinal round to be held in Muscat consists of Adrian Gomes, Anitha D’Souza and Patrick Pereira.
A brief profile of the judges:
Adrian Gomes
He has released four Konkani instrumental audio cassettes and CDs by name ‘A Tribute to the Konkani Composers’ Vol - 1, 2, 3 and 4 and released an Hindi instrumental CD by name ‘A Tribute to the Bollywood Composers’ Vol - 5. Adrian has been a judge for many singing competitions in Konkani and Malayalam, in Kuwait, UAE and Bahrain.
Adrian has been bestowed with many awards for his contribution in popularizing Konkani music, namely ‘Sangeeth Vazanthran Shilpi’ by Uswas – Dubai in 2007 and ‘Konkan Tansen’ by Kuwait Konkans in 2008.
Anitha D'Souza
Apart from performing in over 2000 musical shows in India, she has also performed in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Doha, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. Anitha has rendered her voice for over 200 devotional and 500 film songs, telefilms and drama audio/video albums comprising of Hindi, English, Kannada, Tulu, Konkani, Beary,
Tamil and Malayalam songs. She has sung with popular and world famous Konkani Singers like Konkan Kogul Wilfy Rebimbus, Yodling King Melwyn Peris, Maand Sobann Eric Ozario, Claud D'souza and Henry D'Souza.
Anitha was honoured with the titles 'Kala Tilaka' (by the Kerala Government) at the age of 9. 'Tulunada Gaana Kogile' and 'Vishwa Gadinada Rani Kogile' title in 2011.
Anitha was bestowed with Global Konkani best female singer and her album titled ‘Yaad’ has won the best album of the year.
Patrick Pereira
With over 25 years of experience in the field of music, Patrick Pereira is a qualified teacher of the Trinity college of London and prepares students for Trinity College examination in drums, guitar and keyboard. He has released four guitar instrumental albums of his own and worked as a musician and music director for various movies and albums. Patrick is popularly known for mimicry of singing Konkani legends. He is very well versed in guitar, keyboard and drums with staff notations and also mastered in vocal training.
Patrick owns a professional digital audio recording studio in Mangaluru. He is presently working as a music teacher at Swar Music Institute, Dubai.
