Haveri, Sep 12: In an incident which happened at Hosalli village in the taluk on Monday September 10, a boy died due to an injection administered by a quack doctor.
The unfortunate victim of this incident was Harish Basavanneppa Duggannavar (13).
As the boy was suffering from unexplained fever, his parents had taken him to a quack doctor, Paramesh Kademani, who has his clinic in Aladakatti village nearby, on Saturday September 8. Kademani had administered an injection that day to the boy, but a lump had got formed at the spot where the injection was given.
On Monday, the boy was taken to the same man again. After he delivered another injection to the boy, his health condition deteriorated. Therefore, parents of the boy became anxious and took him to the district hospital. But the boy died before reaching the district hospital.
Angered by this development, the parents kept the body of the boy in front of the district hospital and held protest. As soon as he came to know about the boy's death, the quack doctor disappeared. The personnel of Haveri rural police station have registered a case and are now searching for the culprit.
