Doha, Sep 12: Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA), Doha Qatar, is all set to stage the Qatar semifinals of Gulf Voice of Mangalore - Season 6, the only Konkani singing competition of the Middle East, popular among the Konkani speaking Mangalureans all over the world. The evening will also mark the decennial celebrations of MCA. The event will be held at Hotel Holiday Inn, Doha, on September 21.
Twelve best voices of Qatar are ready to conquer the hearts of the music lovers around the city.
MCA Kala Puraskar - 2018 will be bestowed on Konkan Myna Meena Rebimbus during the event.
Ace musician duo Pappan-Joswin from India will join the Doha’s leading music troupe ‘Singing Birds’.
The event will be compered by the multi-talented and versatile compere in the gulf region Donny Correa, whom is an enthusiastic theatre artiste with a vivid experience in acting, singing and anchoring.
Comedy trio Alwyn Andrade, Sujatha Andrade and Stephen Lewis from Barkur will entertain the crowd with their rib-tickling comedy skits.
‘Team Cornel’ from Mumbai/Bengaluru will perform some awesome, exceptional, and extraordinary dances. Dances will be choreographed by ‘Dance India Dance’ and ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Ja’ fame, Mangaluru’s own Cornel Rodrigues.
Local talents will also take the stage and present some wonderful performances. Some of previous GVOM ‘Voice of Qatar’ title winners will present a few popular songs with their melodious singing and the members of ‘Doha Dancing Squad’ will present dance.

The most difficult task of selecting two best voices among the 12 has been handed over to the three eminent music professionals coming from Mangaluru - Alwyn D’Cunha, Joy Mathias Rai and Suraj Noronha.
The three judges with their vast knowledge in music field will rightly be able to select the best among the best voices of Qatar.
Overall, the event will surely be a memorable one as MCA has promised that it will be an exciting and nail biting contest as never before.

MCA will also celebrate Monti Fest on September 14 at the Ashoka Hall of Indian Cultural Centre, Qatar.
Cultural programme will be organised on the occasion with Konkani action songs, dances, spot games and the highlight of the evening, a rib-tickling comedy drama ‘Sorgar Boroili Soirik’ written by 'Konkan Kalashri' Claud D'Souza, Bendore, all performed by their own talents.
Students from MCA family who have excelled themselves in the final exams held for the academic year 2017-18 will also be honored.
Traditional home-made vegetarian dinner and roce will be served.
