Mangaluru, Sep 15: The principal, staff and students of Carmel School celebrated Hindi Divas on Friday, September 14, in the school auditorium with great vehemence.

The celebration commenced with a prayer service. Savithri welcomed the gathering through her empowering words.

To cheer up this day even more, lighting of the lamp was initiated by Pushpa Nayak, lecturer, St Ann’s PU College, the chief guest and Sr Sarika, principal.

To illuminate the audience on the importance of the language in the contemporary society, Prenisha D’Souza executed a short speech. A short skit on healthy relations was enacted by the students of class X which was unique as it grabbed the attention of the audience with its humour, song, dialogues and quick movements.

The students were mesmerized by the words of chief guest Pushpa Nayak. She emphasized that the day reminds all of true identity and unites everyone with the people of the country. “No matter, wherever we go our language, culture and values must stay intact and the day serves as a reminder for the same. Hindi Diwas is one such day that instills us with patriotic feeling.”

Sr Sarika, principal, appreciated the students for their commendable performance.
