Arresting people connected with prostitution is a good move on the part of The Police Department.

What is more important is that some welfare agency should get involved not only in solving the prevailing problem but importantly REHABILITATION OF THE VICTIMS. This can be done by counselling centres.

This is big joke from police, Tomarrow they will start same business in another lodge.
Women working for money and they know what they are doing, no need to rescue.

Prostitution for some (willingly) may be bread earning (profession) for money and of course there are incidents where some pimps act as a middle man to convince the girls or also may be pushing them forcibly into wrong profession.
Why police do not want to investigate ?

    Police rescued 3 women. ...!
Again soft corner for females. ...! Treat criminals as criminals. Single palm can't make clap sound isn't it ?
Yes in legal point of view , women are ABITTERS. ( here too British influence).
We are in the SWATCHA BHARATH era ! Garbage must be thrown out and jasmine fragrance must spread .

    Mr Shoan,

Do you understand anything. A girl does not go in for prostitution out of her own will,

She will be forced by violent means. Or sometimes she gets trapped into it by some friend whom she trusts the most. So how does that make her a criminal?

D'Souza, Mangalore : I guess every matured person has brain to take the decision by their own. If someone is forcing also, they can come out and speak.. there are so many NGO's now a days who are like rehabilitation centers for such females. But instead of doing that they think its easily earned money and they sell them for a hour or so. If they are really not interested why cant they come out and speak. 24/7 those pimps will not be behind them right?

@Edmond mangalore ,things are not so easy as you think and say.Pimps who sometimes abduct girls from poor familys promising them a good job ,and bring in and lock them in some shaby hotels ,and first make them to obey him by raping self ,give drugs ,alcohol ,keep a watch so that they dont runaway. They have to go through as he says.without food or any normal life. They have to bring a certain amount of money per day .otherwise no mercy.she gets enough kicks and belt feel on her skin.Thats the truth ,if you believe or not .I dont say not all who do privat or willingly.so no question of going to unions or rescue organization. They think first about their poor family to help. They cant go to doctor for tests as they have no money.

Every hotel reception area has got CCTV. Just check if the women were forcibly taken inside the hotel or they have come willingly.
If the women want to earn by prostitution, what is the problem for the police? Why they have to peep into every hotel rooms? Afterall nobody is harmed. Of course, a warning is solicited in case there is a complain from the neighboring room about noise.
Doesn't police have better jobs of controlling drug mafia and rowdism?

HOW LONG THIS HIDE AND SEEK GAME CONTINUES. THE POLICE SHOULD HAVE BETTER JOB THAN TO LISTEN "DEFINITE" INFORMATION AND CHASE THESE PEOPLE. WHERE THERE IS DEMAND, THERE WILL BE SUPPLY. JUST MAKE IT LEGAL AND HAVE SOME ADULT ENTERTAINMENT LIKE SPA, DANCE CLUBS ETC. NOTHING HARM IN IT. WHICH MAN DOESNT WANT THESE... RAISE THE HAND. IF SO, THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THEM :)

Many may not be knowing that, prostitution is legal in India, but not the brothel running. Indian law has been designed in such a way that it doesn't criminalize prostitution but prohibits prostitution at brothels. If a lady charges money from a man for having sex with him, it is neither a criminal offense nor there is any law to stop her from doing so.

Prostitution is more a social issue than legal issue in India.

It is better to lead a descent life by selling Pakoda/Bajji/Chai..... with hard work and sweating than this. All food wenders on streets are not criminals... they are earning their livelyhood by selling Pakoda/chai AND omlet/shemiya/Pundi/Vada/Lassi/Tender coconut, Fruits and what ever a human being consumes.... Only duffers who dont have jobs to do always beg for Chai, Pakoda and all stuffs which were sold on streets by poor and middle class people of OUR COUNTRY.... That is the way of life..... a descent and honourable life.....
