Mangaluru: Roshni Nilaya organises inter-collegiate fest ‘Expressions’

Mangaluru, Sep 17: School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, organised an inter-collegiate fest ‘Expressions’ on September 15.

The theme of the fest was ‘Humanite’ ‘Breaking differences’.

Captain Brijesh Chowta, an ex-serviceman, a political thinker, an entrepreneur, an academician and also a management expert inaugurated the fest. He addressed the audience with a speech, highlighting few sentiments that he learned from his life in the navy, and said “Humanity begins from the society, and how we develop and perceive ourselves, that’s how we can grow this society in a more humane way.”

Juliet C J, principal, School of Social Work, presided over the function. Jenis Mary welcomed the gathering and Sarik Ankitha delivered the vote of thanks. The student convener Diana Bangera unveiled the curtain.

Nine events were conducted.

The chief guests of the valedictory ceremony were Megha Raj, producer, and Manju Rai, actor of Tulu film ‘My name is Annappa’.

Manju Rai, had a hearty talk with the audience inclining on the importance of having a good sense of humor and a good spirit that will eventually lead towards ultimate goal, humanity.

The overall championship trophy was bagged by St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, and Padua College, Mangaluru were the runners up.

    Inter-Collegiate Fest Expressions is a fine idea that will enable many Colleges in and around Mangalore to come forward and share their initiatives so that many other Colleges will also benefit from it.

    Roshni Nilaya being the MSW Specialty Institute has all the talents and abilities to put together a common theme so that these kinds of combined competitions are held regularly and successfully.

    The youth of Mangalore are earning more and more confidence in so many indoor and outdoor activities so that thru their continued support many more new programs will blossom amongst all the Educational Institutions in Mangalore.

    We wish best of success in many more inter-collegiate programs that will help our young men and women to flourish in Mangalore.
