Raichur, Sep 25: In a strange incident which happened near Santhekellur village in Lingasugur taluk of the district on Monday September 24, the wife of a deceased man followed her husband in death after the ambulance in which she was seated met with an accident.
Gangadhar Kabbera (45) from Surpur had fallen ill. He had gone to Bengaluru to get advanced treatment. He had died on Sunday, as treatments given to him failed to improve his condition. His mortal remains were being brought to his native place, Surpur, by an ambulance. The ambulance hit a tractor that had been parked by the roadside near Gaddihalla stream in Santhekellur village.
Gangadhar's wife, Sridevi (35), who suffered serious injuries in the accident, died when being shifted to the government hospital at Lingasugur. Negligence of the ambulance driver is being blamed for this accident.
