Bengaluru, Sep 25: Karnataka High Court has ordered for ACB investigations against former minister R Ashok in connection with sanctioning of eight acres Bagar hukum land illegally at Somanahalli, Bengaluru.
High court refused to cancel ACB FIR on Tuesday and stated that investigations can be conducted under anti-corruption bureau.
It was alleged that when R Ashok was the president of Bengaluru north taluk land conversion committee in 2004, eight acres land in Somanahalli Bagar hukum area was illegally distributed. He had approved the land at Somanahalli, near Uttarahalli to the then mayor Venkatesh Murthi and his wife during the period.
A complaint under section 13(1)(c), 12(1)d, 13(2) IPC 420 and 120(b) was registered against him. R Ashok had petitioned high court to cancel the FIR stating that the allegation is false and politically motivated.
The court has however dismissed the petition by R Ashok and given green signal for the investigations.
