Mangaluru Sep 27: "As per decision taken by education department, there will no shortening of Dasara holidays in the district” said district in-charge minister U T Khader.
Addressing media here on Thursday, September 27, U T Khader said, "This decision was taken after discussing with Zilla panchayat CEO, district administration and DDPI. There will no shortening of Dasara holidays in the district,”
He also said, "Rs 50 crore has been released to the PWD department for the construction of Mularpatna Bridge which recently collapsed during the heavy rain. NHAI will also construct new Gurpur Bridge at the cost of Rs 35 crore,”
Recently Vishwa Hindu Parishad and MLA Vedavyas Kamath had opposed in shortening Dasara holidays after it was revised to October 14 to 21 in the district in place of October 7 to 21. Now as per the order, holidays will be given from October 7 to 21.
