Moodbidri: In gruesome act, youth hacks 20-year-old girlfriend to death, ends life

Moodbidri, Sep 28: In a gruesome incident, a young man hacked his girl friend staying in a rented house near Pranthya here with her family on Friday, September 28.

The girl is identified as Charishma Poojary(20). She succumbed to the injuries in a Moodbidri private hospital later.

The man named Lohith committed suicide after stabbing Karishma. 





Charishma was in their rented house near Pranthya on Friday. Her boyfriend Lohith  who is related to her and staying in Bajal in Mangaluru had come there. Charishma was alone in the house then. Lohith stabbed the girl on the neck and hit on her head with a hammer. He later committed suicide in the house by hanging. The girl died in the hospital without responding to treatment. The mother of the man is a staff at Karkala panchayat.

Modbidri police are investigating the case.

    How sad,.and tragic.What is happening in mangalore which we never heard such horrible things in my younger days.I doubt one thing which may be possible,and many may not agree.The boy came from mangalore as she was alone.Thta means he was either drugged,or had some alcohol,wanted from the girl intimacy which she denied,and was so angry simply hacked,and later felt he had gone too far and self hanged.God knows why did it.Now family has lost two lives ,Heartfelt sympathy to the family.may the souls of these youngsters find peace above.

    Whether it is westernization or easternization,here in this particular case,we cannot arrive to any conclusive proof.Because boy and girl both are no more and family members are in shock and grief.Now we have to wait until report from the police investigation.From this prima- facie,it appears boy is senseless,mad.With his lunatic act,behaviour he is held responsible for the death of girl.Nowadays youths are not tolerant,don't have patience do something wrong emotionally without thinking anything and losing precious lives.Very sad.unimaginable.However the departed soul of both rest in peace and May God bestow patience,strength,courage to the departed family members to sustain this irreparable loss.Om Shanthi.
