Bengaluru, Oct 2: A silent plot is being hatched to dethrone Laxmi Hebbalkar, who had challenged the Jarkiholi brothers in the recently held election for the post of president of PLD bank Belagavi, from the presidentship of state Mahila Congress.
It is said that by using the 'One man one post' rule, it is decided to remove Laxmi Hebbalkar, who is also a rural MLA of Belagavi, from the presidentship of KPCC women's unit.

Jarkiholi brothers, who had raised a revolt against the coalition government, had also put a demand to remove Laxmi Hebbalkar from the presidentship of women's unit of KPCC. Now the high command has come forward to accept the demand. It is learnt that Dr Nagalaxmi Chowdhury, who belongs to the Kuruba community, may get a nod in place
of Laxmi Hebbalkar.
In the midst of these behind the screen activities, women activists of Congress have submitted an appeal to the leader of state Congress legislator party, Siddaramaiah, asking him to remove Laxmi Hebbalkar from the presidentship of the KPCC women's unit. It is said that in the letter given to Siddaramaiah, the women Congress activists have cited the rule of 'One man one post' of the party. So as Laxmi Hebbalkar is an MLA, she needs to be dethroned from the said position.
This present development in the Congress party in the state has become a matter of discussion in political circles.
